What We Do: Every year, the struggling digital music economy forces talented songwriters to succumb to the financial pressure to find more lucrative jobs. We all know what a gift great songwriting is to the culture at large, but many do not know how hard it is to make a living writing in the age of streaming. Launched in 2015, the NMPA S.O.N.G.S. Foundation promotes the creation of music though the funding of gifted songwriters, and programs that foster composition education.

How it Works: NMPA SONGS aims to award young people who produce excellent musical work; and to improve songwriting and composition education. The Foundation hopes to award grants and/or scholarships to individuals who are pursuing careers in musical composition.

Supporting Education: The NMPA S.O.N.G.S. Foundation may contribute to outstanding musical education programs by donating financial and other in-kind support to enhance courses and benefit promising students. Programs will be chosen by the NMPA S.O.N.G.S. Foundation Board.
